GENERAL ADMISSIONS INFORMATION

Springvale Primary School is a Section 21 school and the payment of school fees is compulsory.

The Language of Learning and Teaching is English. The First Additional Language is Afrikaans. Setswana is taught in the foundations phase as an additional language.

The Gauteng Department of Education criteria is applied to rank applicants.

Waiting lists are generated according to:
  1. Home address closest to school
  2. Sibling at school
  3. Work address closest to school within the feeder zone
  4. Home address within 30km
All applicants from each category must be placed before those from the next category can be considered.

The school runs at full capacity from grade 2 - 7 and no new learners can be placed until we have notice of current learners leaving. Please also apply at other schools in the area.

Documents required:

  1. Parent ID copies, certified (SA citizens)- both parents. In the event of a divorce, a copy of the divorce agreement indicating maintenance with regard to the payment of school fees as well as the custody agreement
  2. Death certificate in the case of a deceased parent
  3. If the applicant is not the child’s parent, legal guardianship documents and proof of relationship to the child must be provided
  4. Parent passport and visa/ permit copies (non-SA citizens)
  5. Child’s unabridged birth certificate certified copy (SA citizen)
  6. Child passport and visa/ permit certified copy (non-SA citizen)
  7. Child’s clinic card copy – Immunisation page with the child’s name on it
  8. Child’s latest report card
  9. Proof of residence – make sure that your address is captured correctly on the system and that the proof of residence that you submit displays the correct address
    • Municipal account in the parent’s name - not older than 3 months
    • Utilities/ levy statement in the parent’s name with the full address in the case of a complex or estate – not older than 3 months
    • Formal Agency lease agreement – signed and dated by both parties
    • Informal lease agreement signed and dated by both parties, also requires the landlord’s municipal account, landlord’s ID and 3 months proof of payment of rent or a retail or bank account (FICA document) not older than 3 months
  10. Should your child be accepted, the final report card for 2025 and the transfer letter must be brought to school by the first day of the school year. Learners will not be put into classes without these documents.

Springvale Feeder Zone

Each public school has a feeder zone that is defined by the Gauteng Department of Education. You can go to www.gdeadmissions.gov.za and enter your address to see which schools’ feeder zones cover your address.

Springvale feeder zone borders:

North: M10 Wierda Road
East: R101 Old Johannesburg Road
South: N14 Krugersdorp Highway
West: Monument Drive from N14 bridge, over the R114, diagonally east to Rhinestone complex and Santa Maria Street, North to Don Juan Street, East to R55 and North to M10 Wierda Road. Includes Sevilla Estate, Silverstone Country Estate, Sandstone, Forest Hill and Monavoni.
Excludes Mnandi, Knoppieslaagte and Copperleaf.
